WWDC 2020 Unofficial Opener

This was my unofficial title sequence for WWDC 2020 (if it ever existed HAHA). This was done as part of my course's 2nd iteration of the Motion Design module in Year 1. The brief was to come up with any title sequence for any TV show, movie or event.
A major source of inspiration for this opener was from the 30th Singapore International Film Festival. Their festival trailer was what intrigued me to do this video (I was really into the film festival at that point in time).
If you did notice (and kudos if you did!), the iPhone 8 that is lined up along the 3D bridge transforms into an iPhone X. I achieved this through the use of masking and shape layers in After Effects.
Ah, the 3D bridge. This took a weekend of panicking to figure out how to achieve in After Effects, with the help of 3D layers. It was difficult trying to eyeball the phone, making it align to the Apple Watch-inspired light bridge.

The symbols that "explode" out behind the phone are symbols from previous iterations of WWDC.
The idea here was to form a larger word ("everything") using the workshops that WWDC provides. But I phased that out in favour of mimicking the SGIFF 2019 trailer (closer to the ending, where the workshop's names just flash right in front of you).
